ISO 50001 specifies requirements for establishing, implementing, maintaining and improving an energy management system, whose purpose is to enable an organization to follow a systematic approach in achieving continual improvement of energy performance, including energy efficiency, energy use and consumption. The standard specifies requirements applicable to energy use and consumption, including measurement, documentation and reporting, design and procurement practices for equipment, systems, processes and personnel that contribute to energy performance.
Borouge has got Certified to
ISO 50001:2011 for Borouge 1 and 2 plants in Ruwais in December 2015.
Our dedication to the environment resulted in Environmental Management System certification as per the requirements of ISO 14001 since 2006.
In 2013 Borouge attained the Responsible Care Management System RC14001 certification. We were the first company in the Gulf to have achieved this on an international level across all of its operations. This certification broadens the scope of the ISO 14001 standard beyond the traditional environmental management system, to include health and safety, security, distribution, product stewardship, process safety, community awareness and emergency response.
Requirements for ISO 9001, ISO/TS 16949, ISO 14001 standards and RC14001 Technical Specifications are integrated into our Integrated Management System (IMS).
Occupational Health and Safety Management System Certifications – OHSAS 18001:2007
Occupational Health and Safety Management System Certifications – OHSAS 18001:2007 OHSAS 18001 is widely recognized and internationally acceptable standard in Occupational Health and Safety against which a company management system can be independently assessed. The benefits of implementing this standard is multifold. Reduced health and safety incidents, increased awareness with regard to health and safety risks, proactive approach to managing health and safety etc. are amongst the important takeaways of implementing OHSAS management system. The elements of OHSAS 18001 standard has been embedded in the ADNOC Codes of Practices for Health and Safety. Borouge has been following the ADNOC CoP in Health and Safety, ever since inception and hence, has been able to demonstrate conformance to the OHSAS 18001 standard requirements. The implementation of a sound Health and Safety management system in Borouge has resulted in Borouge winning the OHSAS 18001 Certification in Q3, 2016.
